Massage
Massage is a treatment designed to promote health, wellbeing and relaxation.
It is a space to unwind, to breathe and release tension, an opportunity to engage with the body, to reconnect and come to the centre.
Massage is useful in releasing muscular tension and pain and can help prepare and recover from physical challenges or events. It can be used to address chronic pain as well as stress related conditions.
When we are stressed, overworked, unwell or going through a transition in life, there can be a tendency to leave the body and fly off into space or to be a little more exact, into our heads. . . working with the body can help us to stay with whatever is happening, to stay grounded in the body and in this way can be a great support in times of distress or stress
Deep-Tissue Massage
Deep tissue Massage involves the use of slow deep releasing pressure, often combined with a range of other massage techniques to effect a release of tension on a deep level.
This approach allows a more focused treatment in which chronic tensions and holding patterns can be addressed.
The key to deep work is to work with the breath, working slowly to allow a softening and expansion in the body. It is not about using force or creating pain.
